Seattle drummer and composer Barrett Martin and his group return with their 5th album in 8 years titled, Artifact. Produced by legendary Seattle producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees), Artifact is by far the band's best and most adventurous album to date. The album showcases a perfect rhythmic fusion of Barrett's jazz-rock world beats and the band's liberal use of world music style, exotic melodies, and psychedelic jazz. Now grown into a septet made up of Seattle's top jazz musicians, "The BMG" also features Hindustani vocalist Mehnaz Hoosein, from Mumbai, India. The band will be playing dates throughout the US and Europe throughout the summer and fall of 2012 in support of Artifact, as well as their previous 4 albums.
