These are each title of a four album tribute series to the late singer/songwriter, Blaze Foley. This was a project started in 1990 by a few of his friends who wanted to pay tribute to Blaze by cataloging some of his song. His friends, admirers and fellow musicians were asked if they had a favorite Blaze song that they would like to record in his memory. Originally the project was only going to be one album but quickly mushroomed with many, many people wanting to become a part of it in some way. Immediately the producers of the project realized it would be more than one album. The tribute project was also the inspiration for a documentary on Blaze Foley. Included are Townes Van Zandt, Calvin Russell, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Timbuk 3 and many more.
