Eric Hisaw, The Crosses

The new Eric Hisaw album, "the Crosses" is Eric's fourth and third full-length comprised of 11 originals and an excellent cover of Taj Mahal's "Farther on Down the Road". Lyrically, the originals are meditations on the people Eric grew up around in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Musically the disc ranges from the John Prine-like "Silence" to the exuberant "Heat Treatment" -era Graham Parker pub rock sounds of "Every Sunday" to the straight-up Buck Owens revisionism Americana of "Take Care of Yourself". "The Crosses" is Eric's most complete work to date and delivers on the promise he has long shown, upping the ante in terms of songwriting, production and performance. This album is for the discerning Americana fan who appreciates honesty, literacy and soul.
