Meyers, Augie & The Rocka Baca's, My Freeholies Ain't Free Anymore

Augie Meyers has a pedigree and a distinctive sound. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. From the opening notes of “She's About A Mover” by The Sir Douglas Quintet, formed by Augie with his close friend, the late Doug Sahm, in 1965, the sound of Augie's organ has been distinctively his and his alone---many have tried but no one else has that sound of Texas rock/blues/tex-mex that is so instantly recognizable. With a resume with that includes the first roots super group, the Texas Tornadoes with Sahm, the late Freddy Fender and the incomparable Flaco Jimenez with stops along the way with Bob Dylan (the Grammy winning Time Out of Mind) and his solo hit Hey Baby Key Pa So, Augie Meyers has kept rollin' his rock for over four decades. With the rocka baca's, his new album My Freeholies Ain't free Anymore keeps the Texas music tradition alive.
