Featuring trap drummer Raúl Pineda (Chucho Valdés), conguero and vocalist Jesús Díaz (QBA), bassist Juan Carlos Portillo, with special guest appearances by Bob Mintzer on the sax (Yellowjackets) and Nachito Herrera on keyboards and synthesizers, and Dany LaBana on guitar. Combined, this powerhouse defines promise and excitement for much music to follow. Pianist Gustavo Ramirez Oma from Havana, Cuba studied music at the International School of Music in Havana, Cuba. The harmonic influences of Emiliano Salvador and Gonzalo Rubacalva are revealed in his adventurous original material, also packed with intriguing angular melodies and improvisations. The music is driven by brilliant jazz-fusion lines, coupled with strong funk-rock and Afro-Cuban influences.
