On Light of the Night, the exquisite US debut from Florencia Ruiz, the 34-year-old Argentinean vocalist, delivers proof thirteen times over that the international success she has experienced since releasing her first CD in 2000 is sure to soar to even loftier heights once her music reaches our shores. Propelled by Florencia’s haunting and ethereal vocals, the CD features an ensemble cast of musicians, including Brazilian cellist Jacques Morelenbaum (Caetano Veloso, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Cesária Évora) and Uruguayan pianist Hugo Fattoruso (Milton Nascimento, Hermeto Pascoal, Ron Carter).
