Rebel Wheel, The, We Are In The Time Of Clocks
The brand new release by The Rebel Wheel, We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks, will be the Ottawa-based band's third official release following the critical acclaim of 2008's Diagramma. Steeped in dark, cinematic soundscapes and complex turn-on-a-dime arrangements, The Rebel Wheel features an infectious mix of rock aggression and soaring, odd-meter unpredictability. A four-piece performance band featuring guitars, keyboards, sax, drums and bass, The Rebel Wheel focuses on modern, genre-blending Progressive Rock with strong male and female lead vocals. We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks contains seven songs with the largest piece being the 30-minute multi-part epic, "The Discoverie of Witchcraft." At times intense and dissonant, at other times lyrical and direct, We Are in the Time of Evil Clocks features the band's strongest material to date, combining their unique arrangements and unexpected sonic excursions with a self-contained compositional symmetry that stands alone within the current musical landscape.
